United States

United States is a federal republic consisting of 50 states and a federal district. Except for Alaska (northern Canada) and Hawaii (Pacific Ocean), 48 other states and federal district located in North America. United States border with Mexico and the Gulf of Mexico in the south, and with Canada on the north and northwest (Alaska exclave). In the west the country borders the Pacific Ocean and on the east by the Atlantic Ocean. In World War II, the United States became the first country to have nuclear weapons. The end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union made the United States became the only world superpower and the leading edge in terms of military, economic, cultural, and political.
